Brand entity consistency for AI recommendations

How inconsistent naming across Shopify, schema, packaging, and PR confuses AI systems — and the naming system that fixes it.

Updated 2026-07-19

Models recommend entities. If your storefront says “Acme”, schema says “Acme Labs LLC”, and PR says “acmelabs”, you split confidence.

The naming system

Pick:

  1. Public brand string (what answers should say)
  2. Legal entity (about page)
  3. Aliases (former names, abbreviations) — configure in measurement tools

Use the public brand string in: title tags, Organization name, Product brand, llms.txt, packaging, and outreach.

Shopify checkpoints

  • Theme header brand = Organization name
  • App store listings / marketplaces use the same string
  • Domains/canonicals do not fight each other
  • Collection names do not invent a second brand

Measurement impact

Alias-aware SoV scoring prevents false negatives — but aliases are not a substitute for public consistency.
