Brand entity consistency for AI recommendations
How inconsistent naming across Shopify, schema, packaging, and PR confuses AI systems — and the naming system that fixes it.
Models recommend entities. If your storefront says “Acme”, schema says “Acme Labs LLC”, and PR says “acmelabs”, you split confidence.
The naming system
Pick:
- Public brand string (what answers should say)
- Legal entity (about page)
- Aliases (former names, abbreviations) — configure in measurement tools
Use the public brand string in: title tags, Organization name, Product brand, llms.txt, packaging, and outreach.
Shopify checkpoints
- Theme header brand = Organization name
- App store listings / marketplaces use the same string
- Domains/canonicals do not fight each other
- Collection names do not invent a second brand
Measurement impact
Alias-aware SoV scoring prevents false negatives — but aliases are not a substitute for public consistency.
